Ian was born and raised in Stockport, and is now an Edinburgh resident. He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh’s MSc in Translation Studies, with an MA (Hons) in Scandinavian Studies for good measure. He spent one year in the Department of Nordic Languages at Uppsala University for the sake of variation. Currently divides his time (often unequally) between PhD research and translation.
